
ACAAI And Allied Health Membership
All of us today live in a busy world. With work, family and social commitments we often find ourselves over-extended and vow to scale back or "Just say No!" Professional growth and development is extremely rewarding and achievable for everyone. Membership to the ACAAI and committee participation can not only enhance professional development, provide important networking opportunities, but also strengthen patient care and education. Your experience and knowledge is valuable and your talents and expertise will be utilized as a member of the Allied Health ACAAI professional committee.
There are many ways to 'engage' in the Allied Health Section of the ACAAI that don't require an overt amount of time or energy. Beginning with membership, and the benefits from access to information provided through the organization, is a very simple way to start. There are many ways to share your expertise. Some may want to participate as a member on the various organizational committees, attend the ACAAI Annual Meeting for education and networking, write articles for distribution on the website, or perhaps become a speaker presenting topics of professional expertise.
Membership fees are actually nominal ($65.00) when compared to other professional groups. Your membership includes reduced fees for the annual meeting, bi-monthly newsletters, e-news and listing in the ACAAI Membership Directory. For Advanced Practice Providers there are special programs to address the needs of those who diagnose and treat the Allergy, Asthma and Immunology population. Actually something for everyone exists, from courses designed for Advanced Practice Professionals such as Nurse practitioners, Physician Assistance, registered nurses, respiratory therapist, and other health care professionals, Office Administrators, Clinical Research Professionals and clinic allergy/asthma/immunology medical professionals, the 'nurses' who provide the valuable day-to-day care and education to our patients.
Allied Health has its own Professional Committee as well as a Program Planning Committee for the annual meeting. Allied Health members can also apply to be on a variety of committees within the College itself. Committee work can be done from a distance via internet or computer and is not labor intensive. It provides a fantastic opportunity for networking and enhances professionalism and growth.
With rapid advances in information and technology, being a member of the Allied Health Section of the ACAAI is a fantastic way to remain current, fresh and excited about the care you are providing. Remember, we all learn from one another so please join or renew your ACAAI membership and become an active and involved member of the ACAAI.
