Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN)The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) is the world leader in information about food allergy. FAAN provides information and educational resources about food allergy to patients, their families, schools, health professionals, pharmaceutical companies, the food industry and government officials. Food Allergy Initiative (FAI)FAI mission is to raise public awareness about the seriousness of food allergies. Through effective educational programs and public information, FAI heightens awareness of food allergies and anaphylaxis among the media, healthcare workers, and education and childcare professionals, while also working with the nation’s policy makers to create a safer environment and improve care for the food allergic population. Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF)The Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF), founded in 1980, is the national patient organization dedicated to improving the diagnosis, treatment and quality of life of persons with primary immunodeficiency diseases through advocacy, education and research.
On behalf of those with primary immunodeficiency diseases, IDF offers educational programs and materials that offer medical information, important life management and patient care resources, and support for patients and family members. IDF supports advocacy to promote healthcare legislation and policies that positively affect the primary immune deficiency community; and research and medical programs that improve diagnosis and treatment of primary immunodeficiency diseases. The Mastocytosis Society (TMS)The Mastocytosis Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting patients affected by Mastocytosis/ Mast Cell Activation Disorders as well as their families, caregivers, and physicians/health care providers through research, education, and advocacy. TMS offers educational materials, a quarterly newsletter, and a written resource guide for physicians/health care providers who need assistance in diagnosing a patient with a suspected mast cell disorder, an email list, and support groups. U.S. Hereditary Angioedema Association HAEA is a non-profit patient advocacy organization dedicated to expediting US approval of safer and more effective HAE therapies. Its purpose is to set training standards and evaluate competence of individual candidates in the area of allergy and immunology practice common to the sponsoring groups. The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), a not-for-profit organization, assists 24 approved medical specialty boards in the development and use of standards in the ongoing evaluation and certification of physicians. ABMS, recognized as the “gold standard” in physician certification, believes higher standards for physicians means better care for patients National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB)The NAECB exam is a voluntary testing program used to assess qualified health professionals knowledge in asthma education.
