FDA Advises Patients to Switch to
HFA-Propelled Albuerol Inhalers Now
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a public health advisory to alert patients, caregivers and health care professionals to switch to hydrofluoroalkane (HFA)-propelled albuterol inhalers because chlorofluorocarbon (CFC)-propelled inhalers will not be available in the United States after Dec. 31, 2008.
Brochure Explains New NHLBI Asthma Guidelines
The College has introduced a new patient education brochure that explains the new asthma guidelines from the NHLBI National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP). The Guidelines emphasize the importance of asthma control and introduce new approaches for monitoring the disease.
