Allergist Jennifer Shih, MD: Telehealth visits are a great way to be efficient about the way you can see your doctor, and there are a few tips to make it successful.
First of all, you want to make sure that you have equipment to utilize. Your phone is a great way to do that or you could use your computer. You’re going to get a link to be able to click on to see your doctor. So, you want to make sure you’re ready to click on that. You will enter a virtual waiting room and wait for your doctor there.
Be ready to have your questions, history, and things you want to ask your doctor. Once you log on, you will do a visit like you would in person by discussing anything that you may have questions about, and then you will get a plan at the end. And then you’ll log off and you’re done.
You’ll do your follow-up appointment, get any other lab results and things via an electronic method once you’re done.
