Allergist Aleena Banerji, MD: The absolute answer is yes. The actual egg content in the flu vaccine is minimal to zero and we should not be concerned about that any more. Even in individuals that have anaphylaxis to egg, we know that they can safely tolerate the flu vaccine and we shouldn’t even be screening for egg allergy any more when we’re giving the flu vaccine. It is very well tolerated in anyone with any history of egg allergy.
